College football rival alerts
College football has the longest grudges in sports and a ranking system built to start arguments. Hate Watch follows the FBS teams you track and tells you about the turnover, the upset and the slide down the poll the moment it happens.
What you get alerts for
College football in Hate Watch is about teams, not players: you track a school, and the alerts are about what that team does. You can get an alert when your target:
- Throws an interception or loses a fumble;
- Pulls its quarterback, with the name of the one who comes in;
- Gets sacked, gets flagged, or goes three-and-out;
- Has a touchdown wiped out by a penalty, or has a player ejected;
- Misses a kick, including a blocked extra point, or the opponent recovers an onside kick;
- Turns it over on downs, comes away empty from the red zone, or gives up a safety.
Two alerts are for the rankings. When a new AP Top 25 comes out, you hear if your target fell in it or dropped out of it. And when a ranked team loses to an unranked one, the loss alert says so.
Which ones buzz your phone
Push notifications by default include interceptions, lost fumbles, a benched quarterback, a wiped-out touchdown, ejections, missed kicks, onside kicks, a turnover on downs, an empty red-zone trip, a safety, losing to an unranked team and the poll alerts. Sacks, flags and three-and-outs go to the feed without a buzz, and every fumble and incompletion is off until you turn it on.

When the game ends
When a team you track loses, you get the loss alert with lines for how: in overtime, on a score in the final seconds, after blowing a lead of 17 points or more, held scoreless, or as a heavy favorite. A blowout counts at 42 points. In the College Football Playoff, you also hear when a team is eliminated.
Picking a target
Alabama and Auburn, Ohio State and Michigan, Texas and Oklahoma, Georgia and Florida, USC and Notre Dame: the rivalries have names and traditions, and the weeks before them are the whole season. A ranked team that loses to an unranked one at home is the kind of Saturday this is for. Search for a school and tap Track.
